FAQs
Many questions have already been asked, but if you have a new question please send it our way - we will get back to you usually in a matter of a few hours.
-
Lisle Medical is predominantly a home visiting service but we also have a clinic in central Haslemere. Appointments can be booked online and you will receive directions in your confirmation email.
-
You just need to book an appointment. Click the blue button in the top menu and it will guide you through selecting the most appropriate appointment type. For a visit, book a ‘Call to arrange visit time’ - this will be a quick chat at the time of your choosing to get an idea of the problem and to agree a time to visit, which will usually be on the same or next day. You can cancel at any stage, and no payment is taken until after your appointment.
-
Most appointments will be offered on the day, or possibly the next day if requested in the afternoon. Out of hours visits can often be arranged for members if required.
-
If you book an appointment online you will see a link to fill in your details - you only need to do this additional form the first time. If you apply for membership the form is similar and will register you on our system. If you would prefer to add your details to our system now to save you doing it when you need us and feel unwell then you can do at this link.
-
No, membership is an option but not required. You are most welcome to use the service on an ad hoc basis, please just go ahead and book in.
-
Usually as long as it needs to be. At our initial call we will allocate what we expect will be sufficient time to cover your concerns in an unhurried fashion at one home visit. Clinic appointments booked by you will need to stick to 30 minutes, but you can book a double appointment (60 minutes) we can always pick up the conversation later by phone.
-
Not at all. You remain registered with an NHS GP, they can be informed of our discussions and conclusions if we decide it makes sense, and we can even refer you to NHS hospital services if required.
-
Fees are constantly compared across the sector, although there aren’t many private GP services offering a similar service. Lisle Medical is competitively priced, and the details are all on our fees page.
-
You are most welcome to book in a clinic appointment at Cowdray. As a mobile service the doctor needs to remain relatively close to the patients, so although we will always try our best to help those in adjacent areas we can’t guarantee the same prompt or frequent availability. It is always worth asking though so please get in touch.
-
Yes, we maintain a list of who we feel are the best specialists in all fields both locally and nationally and can refer you to all of them. You may need to check with your insurer for eligibility, particularly for some very highly specialist services. We can also refer to NHS services.
-
Unfortunately not. The majority of UK private medical insurance policies do not cover GP care and it is therefore not necessary to register our service with them in the way a hospital consultant would. They will however accept our referrals. Sometimes you can claim the cost back - we will help with any forms if needs be.
Some policies include access to an in-house remote GP service but we find that these offer no continuity, personalised care or in-person interaction. Lisle Medical is a different service focussing on full and thorough assessment of you through the medium of a traditional GP appointment.
