Meet your local private GP team

GP & Founder

Dr Piers Foster

MBChB, MRCGP (2014)

Piers started his medical training in Edinburgh in 2001 and joined the Army as an undergraduate, spending 16 years in uniform, including several years as Regimental Medical Officer to the Irish Guards. He started working in private practice alongside his military role in 2015, finding that returning injured or sick soldiers to the highest possible standard of physical and mental fitness was complementary to delivery of a high standard of care in all settings. Military experience has influenced his ongoing practice, and he develops a healthcare plan based on the best medical evidence that truly works for you.

Upon retiring from the army Piers worked in the NHS and then exclusively as a private GP in London. Piers says of his creation of Lisle Medical: “I enjoyed my time working as a full time NHS GP and will continue to contribute where I can, but I wanted to deliver a responsive, personalised and convenient service modelled on a couple of early healthcare experiences of my own and which were the beginnings of my desire to be a doctor. I have used my middle name, Lisle, even at the risk of some confusion over pronunciation [silent ‘s’ if you’re wondering], because the service I passionately want to provide is very much part of my vocation and personality.” Piers hopes that delivery of this service may even inspire the next generation of GPs!

Piers is married with two daughters and lives in West Sussex. He has a variety of interests, none of which he is really able to give enough time to, but lists sailing, skiing, gardening, cycling, music and travel among the many things he will continue to squeeze in alongside his favourite pastime of spending time with his family in this beautiful part of the world.

Dr Charlotte Burton

MBBS MRCGP

Charlotte qualified as a doctor from Kings College London in 2008 and worked in multiple specialities in various hospitals and locations around Surrey. She completed her GP training in 2013 and has worked extensively in the private sector since then for a number of providers in London and the South East. We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to the Haslemere clinic in 2024 which brings her home to where she grew up and lives with her family. She has an intimate knowledge of the local area and brings a wealth of expertise in the full spectrum of general practice for men, women and children, but cites a particular interest in womens health including HRT as well as sexual health.

Dr Madeleine Beach

BMedSci (Hons) BMBS MRCGP

Madeleine is an experienced GP who graduated from Nottingham University Medical School in 2006. After qualifying she trained as an anaesthetist, and worked for more than 10 years in this speciality across several Central and West London hospitals – before undertaking further training to become a Member of the Royal College of General Physicians. Within these two areas, Madeleine has gained a broad range of experience in acute and family medicine. Prior to moving to the local area, she worked in a well established and respected private clinic in West London for the last 5 years. She enjoys providing continuity of care with a keen interest in antenatal care and child health. Madeleine lives on the outskirts of Guildford with her husband, twin boys and their chocolate labrador.

Nurse Carolyn

RN

Carolyn is our registered nurse, lending a hand wherever she can to the team. Originally (but no longer) a midwife, Carolyn will not be intentionally delivering children for Lisle Medical, but instead brings decades of nursing experience in a variety of settings. Carolyn will truly bring the full range of General Practice services to Lisle Medical: assisting with blood tests, vaccines, minor illness assessments and earwax clearance to free up more GP appointments, as well as offering a dressings service and post-operative wound management where required.

It was so nice meeting you and reassuring you are around in time of crisis!

I was worried about how [dad] would react to being asked many questions but you were so kind he thought he’d just had a friend visiting.
